American Standard 1660773.243 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the handheld holder on the American Standard 1660773 slide bar be adjusted for height and spray angle?
That is the point of the bar. The shower holder slides and locks at any height or position along the 30-inch bar, and the holder itself angles up to 45 degrees, so one bar serves a tall adult and a seated or child user without re-drilling the wall.
2) Does the American Standard 1660773 slide bar include a handheld shower head and hose?
What you are buying is the bar and its adjustable holder. A handheld wand and hose are separate items, so if you are building the shower from scratch order the handheld, the hose, and the supply elbow or diverter along with it.
3) What finishes does the American Standard 1660773 30-inch shower slide bar come in?
Six finishes: Chrome (1660773.002), Polished Nickel (1660773.013), Matte Black (1660773.243), Legacy Bronze (1660773.278), Brushed Nickel (1660773.295), and Brushed Cool Sunrise (1660773.GN0). If you are matching an existing American Standard trim set in a bathroom refresh, order by that suffix, since the suffix is the finish code across the line.
4) Will this slide bar work with handheld showers from other brands?
The holder is an American Standard traditional-style cradle sized for its own handheld wands. Mixing brands is not something the product data covers, so if you are pairing it with a wand you already own, match it to an American Standard handheld to be sure the cradle grips the neck properly.
5) Is the American Standard traditional 30-inch slide bar suitable for apartment turns and hotel bathrooms?
American Standard classifies the 1660773 as a residential product in its luxury trim tier. It is a fine fit for apartments, condos and single-family remodels. For high-abuse commercial washrooms, a purpose-built commercial shower unit is the better call.
