American Standard 1660730.243 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much wall height do I need for the American Standard 30-inch round shower slide bar?
Plan on 30-1/2 inches of clear vertical run for the bar itself, which is the overall height including both mounting brackets. Add clearance above for the hose loop when the holder is parked at the top. It projects about 3 inches off the wall, so check that a shower door or curtain track will clear it.
2) Does this American Standard slide bar include a hand shower and hose?
No. The 1660730 is the bar and the adjustable holder bracket only. You supply the personal shower and hose separately. The bracket is made to accept a hand shower head, so match it to the finish you order for the bar.
3) What finishes does the American Standard 1660730 shower slide bar come in?
Six finishes: Chrome (1660730.002), Polished Nickel (1660730.013), Matte Black (1660730.243), Legacy Bronze (1660730.278), Brushed Nickel (1660730.295), and Brushed Cool Sunrise (1660730.GN0). If you're matching a valve trim or hand shower already installed, order by that suffix code, since American Standard uses the same finish codes across its trim lines.
4) Is this slide bar suitable for apartment or hotel shower installs?
American Standard classifies the 1660730 as a residential, luxury-tier item. It works fine in multi-family units and condo bathrooms where a hand shower on an adjustable bar is wanted. For high-traffic commercial or institutional showers, a heavier commercial-duty bar is the better spec.
