American Standard Standard 36-Inch Shower Slide Bar - AMS-1660236

The holder slides and locks anywhere along the bar, so there are no preset notches to work around. It also pivots up to 45 degrees, which is what lets one bar serve a seated user and a standing user in the same shower.

No. The 1660236 is the bar and adjustable holder only. You supply the handheld spray and hose, plus a wall supply elbow or a handshower-capable diverter at the valve. Budget those as separate line items when you quote the job.

Three: Chrome (1660236.002), Matte Black (1660236.243), and Brushed Cool Sunrise (1660236.GN0). If you are matching a shower trim or handheld already in the room, order by the suffix rather than the finish name, since American Standard uses the same three suffixes across its trim lines.

It is classified as a residential product in American Standard's line, positioned in their luxury tier. For a hotel, care facility, or high-traffic commercial shower, spec a commercial-duty bar instead, and note that a decorative slide bar is not a substitute for an ADA grab bar under any circumstances.

It fits most tub-showers, but check the wall first. The bar needs about 37.5 inches of uninterrupted vertical run, which is fine on a full-height wet wall but tight if you are mounting on the end wall above a tub deck or below a low shower ceiling. In a compact stall, a shorter bar or a fixed wall hook is the easier install.

It works for that if the units are residential and you are consistent on finish. The same model number carries all three finishes, so you can keep one part on file and change only the suffix when a building uses black versus chrome trim. Because the holder position is infinitely adjustable rather than fixed, one bar spec covers tubs, walk-ins, and different tenant heights without a second SKU.
