1) Which exit devices does the ACSI K-107 request to exit switch kit fit?
The K-107 switch kit is built for Corbin Russwin 8000 Series and Yale 2100 Series exit devices. It is a field installed kit, meaning the switch goes into the device you already have on the door rather than requiring a new device.
2) I have a Von Duprin 99 device, not a Corbin Russwin. Will the K-107 work?
No. The K-107 is cut for Corbin Russwin 8000 and Yale 2100 devices only. For Von Duprin 33A, 35A, 98 and 99 devices, ACSI makes the K-100, or the K-200 if you need a DPDT switch. Von Duprin 55 Series takes the K-101 and the 88 Series takes the K-102.
3) Can I use a request to exit switch kit to release a maglock when someone pushes the bar?
That is one of the main uses. The K-107 signals the instant the push bar is depressed, so it can drop a magnetic lock for free egress, trip or shunt a door alarm, or report the push to a control console.
4) What type of switch is in the ACSI K-107 kit?
A SPDT (single pole double throw) switch assembly, supplied with long wire leads so you can run them out to the hinge side or through the device without splicing at the switch. Installation instructions come in the kit.
5) Is the ACSI K-107 switch kit approved for use on a fire rated door?
No fire rating is carried on the K-107 kit. It is a commercial-duty electronic switch component, so on a fire rated opening the rating stays with the exit device and door assembly, not with this kit.

The K-107 handles the Corbin Russwin 8000 and Yale 2100 openings.
7) Is the K-107 a latch bolt monitor or a push bar switch?
It is a push bar (request to exit) switch, signaling when the bar is depressed. Latch bolt monitoring is a different kit in the ACSI line, the K-123 for Von Duprin 33A, 35A, 98 and 99, and the K-127 for use with the ACSI 1500K-VD ELR kit on those same Von Duprin devices.
8) Do I need a DPDT switch instead, and does ACSI offer one for Corbin Russwin 8000?
The K-107 is the SPDT kit. ACSI's DPDT versions exist for specific device lines only, the K-200 for Von Duprin 33A/35A/98/99, the K-203 for Sargent 80, and the K-226 for Hager 4500/4600, PDQ 6200 and Stanley Commercial QED100/200/300.
