Installation & Operation

  1. Review manufacturer specifications and verify door preparation requirements including door thickness and mortise preparation for the deadlatch body and cylinder.
  2. Use manufacturer-provided templates to mark mounting hole locations accurately on door edge and face for proper alignment.
  3. Prepare door mortise according to specifications for the deadlatch body, faceplate, and cylinder locations as required.
  4. Install deadlatch body into door mortise and secure faceplate with provided mounting screws per manufacturer torque specifications.
  5. Install mortise cylinder (sold separately) and verify proper engagement with MS cam mechanism for smooth operation.
  6. Install strike plate 4902-01 on door frame ensuring proper alignment with latchbolt and auxiliary bolt for secure latching.
  7. Test latchbolt operation, bolt holdback function, and cylinder operation to verify proper installation. Refer to manufacturer documentation for complete installation details and troubleshooting.
