  2. Use manufacturer-provided templates to mark mounting hole locations accurately on door and frame surfaces for the 1" x 6-7/8" faceplate.
  3. Prepare door by routing mortise cavity and drilling required holes per manufacturer specifications for the deadlatch mechanism.
  4. Install deadlatch body into prepared mortise and secure faceplate with provided mounting screws per manufacturer torque specifications.
  5. Install standard strike 4902-01 on frame for flat jamb applications, ensuring proper alignment with latchbolt throw.
  6. Test latchbolt operation, bolt holdback function with reverse key turn, and verify smooth operation throughout full range of motion. Install mortise cylinder separately if required. Refer to manufacturer documentation for complete installation details and troubleshooting.
