The JO-1MDW is a 7" touchscreen master station. It supports up to 8 mobile apps, providing the ability to answer calls and release the door from within the facility or while away. The JO Series master station allows VOX or touch-to-talk communication.

The JO-1MDW allows for call recording to internal memory (10 calls max.) or call recording to external memory (1,000 calls max.). The recorded calls can be viewed on the master station or via any registered mobile app.
The JO Series is available in three easy-to-install box sets, each featuring a single app compatible master station, a power supply, and one of three different door stations.

1) Will the Aiphone JO-1MDW monitor work as the inside station for an apartment or office when nobody is on site?
That's what the JO-1MDW is built around. The 7 inch touchscreen master station supports up to 8 mobile apps, so a call at the door can be answered and the door released from the app while you're away, not just from the station on the wall. Talk path is either VOX (hands free voice actuation) or touch-to-talk at the screen.
2) What power supply does the Aiphone JO-1MDW need, and can I run it off the door station wiring?
It runs on 18V DC from the PS-1820UL supply, drawing a maximum of 450mA. That transformer is a separate item, so budget for it on any order where you're buying the monitor by itself. The run to the door station is a simple 2-wire connection.
3) Can the JO Series monitor trigger an electric strike or maglock directly?
There is a door release contact on board, rated N/O 24V AC/DC at 1A. That's a dry contact, so it switches the strike circuit rather than powering it. A strike or maglock drawing more than 1A, or running above 24V, needs a relay between the monitor and the lock.
4) How many door calls can the Aiphone JO-1MDW record, and do I need an SD card?
Internal memory holds 10 calls. Drop in a microSD card and that goes to 1,000 calls. The card is not included, and it has to be 4GB to 32GB formatted FAT32. Recorded calls play back on the station itself or through any registered mobile app, which is what makes it useful for a property manager reviewing who came to the door during the day.
5) Does the JO-1MDW need Wi-Fi, and what network does it want?
The mobile app side rides on Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz, 802.11 b/g/n. There's no 5 GHz radio, so the station has to see a 2.4 GHz SSID at the mounting location. On a job where the entry is far from the router, that coverage check comes before the rough-in, not after.
6) Can I add a second inside station so someone in the back office can answer the door too?
