1) Can I use the Metallics TS505 wedge anchor outdoors or in a damp location?
The TS505 is zinc plated steel, which is a mild corrosion coating meant for dry interior use. For exterior exposure, wet areas, or anything in contact with treated lumber, go to a stainless or hot dip galvanized wedge anchor instead. Zinc plated anchors will rust in standing moisture.
2) Will a 5/8 x 5 wedge anchor work in hollow block or brick?
No. Wedge anchors like the TS505 are for solid concrete only. The expansion clip needs solid material to bite against, so it will spin out in hollow CMU, brick, or mortar joints. Use a sleeve anchor or a screw anchor rated for masonry in those bases.
3) How many anchors come in a box of Metallics TS505?
Twenty-five anchors per box, packed as a box quantity. One box covers 25 anchor points, so a job with four anchors per base plate gets six plates out of a box with one left over.
4) Does the Metallics TS505 come with the nut and washer?
Yes, wedge anchors ship as a complete assembly: threaded stud, expansion clip, flat washer and hex nut already on the anchor. You drill, drive it through the fixture, and torque the nut to set the clip. No separate hardware to order.
5) Can a wedge anchor be removed or reused once it is set?
No. Once the TS505 is torqued the clip expands permanently against the hole wall. You can back the nut off and remove the fixture, but the anchor body stays. To clear it, cut or drive the stud below the surface and patch. If you need a removable fastener, use a drop in anchor with a machine bolt instead.
