Baldwin Estate R055 Arch Rose Dummy

Half Pair gets you one rose for a single side of the door, which is what you want on a closet or pantry door that is only ever handled from the hall. Pair gets you two, one for each face, for a double door or any opening you want trimmed on both sides. Both options are offered across all 14 finishes of the R055.

It is a dummy function, so there is no latch and no moving mechanism. The R055 arch rose mounts to the face of the door as trim only, typically paired with a dummy knob or lever on a door held shut by a ball catch or roller catch. If you need the door to latch, you need a passage or privacy set instead.

Yes. The R055 is part of Baldwin's Estate Series, so it is finished to the same Estate finish codes as the rest of that line. The R055 is the rose only, so you also need the dummy knob or lever that mounts to it, and a catch to hold the door closed, since a dummy has no latch. For a single closet or pantry door, one Half Pair covers the pull side; a set of double doors takes a Half Pair per leaf or the Pair option.

Projection is 0.25 inch, so it sits nearly flush. That matters on a door that swings into a tight casing or against a wall, and it keeps the trim low profile behind a knob or lever.

The substrate is brass. Baldwin's Estate Series plates the brass for the nickel and bronze finishes, so a satin nickel R055 is nickel-plated brass and carries the weight you would expect from a solid brass part rather than zinc casting.

Baldwin lists the R055 arch rose as residential. For high-traffic commercial openings you would want hardware specified to a commercial grade instead. As a dummy trim on a residential-style opening, a private office suite, or a model unit, it is in the right application.

Non-lacquered brass, finish 031, is left unprotected on purpose and will darken and patina with handling and air exposure. If you want the brass look to stay bright and uniform across a run of doors, choose 003 Polished Brass or 044 Satin Brass instead.
