Yes. The Eaton B-Line 886 RTSC is rated NEMA 3R, which means it sheds falling rain, sleet and external ice formation, so it works on an exterior wall, a rooftop curb, or an unprotected equipment yard. It is not a washdown or hosedown enclosure, so skip it where the box will take direct pressure spray or submersion. The screw cover has a rain hood and plated screws to keep water off the seam.

It ships with 4 bottom knockouts, which is the correct arrangement for a 3R box since conduit entering from below keeps water out of the enclosure. Sides, top and back are solid, so any additional entry has to be punched in the field, and on an outdoor 3R installation any top or side penetration needs a raintight fitting to keep the rating intact.

Surface mount, using embossed thru holes in the back of the enclosure. The embossed holes stand the box slightly off the mounting surface, which is what keeps water from wicking behind it on an exterior wall. Mounting hardware is not part of the enclosure, so specify anchors or fasteners to suit your substrate. The box weighs 5.7 lb empty, so it is a one person hang.

Screw cover is the trade off. The 886 RTSC uses a flanged screw cover with plated screws, which gives a better weather seal and some deterrence against casual entry, but you need a driver and a few minutes every time you open it. For a pull point or splice box you touch once a year that is fine. If the box is a service point a tech opens weekly, look instead at a hinged or clamp latch 3R enclosure of the same footprint.

16 gauge carbon steel with a painted finish in ANSI 61 grey. The 16 gauge body is stiff enough that the cover flange stays flat and conduit hubs do not deform the wall. Painted carbon steel is the standard choice for general outdoor and industrial use; in a coastal, chemical, or corrosive washdown location a stainless or non metallic enclosure is the better call.

It is finished in ANSI 61 grey, the same standard grey used across most industrial panelboards, control enclosures and gear, so a bank of boxes on a wall reads as one set. Useful if you are standardizing enclosures across a facility.
