1) Will Emtek 1111 trim fit my Andersen or Marvin swinging patio door?
The 1111 is built for Door Configuration #1 multi point systems, and Emtek references it against Atrium, G-U, KML by Andersen, Andersen, Marvin Integrity, Paddock Lockmaster, and Superior doors. The deciding number is the center-to-center spacing between the handle hub and the cylinder hole: 3-5/8 inches, with the cylinder sitting below the handle. Measure that on your existing door prep. If your spacing or hub layout differs, you need a different configuration, not this one.
2) Is the cylinder above or below the handle on the Emtek 1111 trim?
Below the handle. That is the whole point of the Config #1 designation on this plate: the keyed American cylinder hub sits under the lever, 3-5/8 inches from the handle hub. If you are staring at a door where the key cylinder is above the lever, this plate will not line up with the existing prep and you want the above-handle version instead.
3) Can I key the Emtek 1111 to match my existing Schlage or Kwikset house keys?
The trim takes an American cylinder and ships with a choice of Schlage keyway (standard) or Weiser WR5 keyway. Weiser WR5 is the keyway Kwikset-family keys use, so pick that if the rest of the house runs on those. Keying is set at order time: keyed different or keyed alike, and there is a field to key to a specific code if you have one. It is single cylinder, so key outside, thumbturn side inside.
4) Do I have to specify handing when ordering Emtek 1111 patio door trim?
Yes, handing is required, right hand or left hand, and it is not field reversible on a multi point trim set. Determine it from the outside of the door: stand outside, and the side the hinges are on is the hand.
