1) Does the Emtek 1671 multipoint trim include the multipoint lock mechanism itself?
No. The 1671 is trim only. What ships is the plates, the handles, and the cylinder. The cylinder is an American-style cylinder and you pick the keyway when you order: Schlage keyway is the standard option, Weiser WR5 is the alternative. WR5 is the Kwikset-family keyway, so if the rest of the house is on Kwikset-style keys, take the WR5. Keying is single cylinder, meaning key outside and thumb-operated lever inside.
