1) Does the Emtek 16A1 come with the multi point lock body, or is that a separate purchase?
Trim only. The 16A1 set is the brass plates, the handles and the American cylinder. The multi point mortise lock body, the mechanism that throws the locking points at the head and sill when you lift the lever, is bought separately. That makes this the right part when the multipoint lock inside your patio door still runs fine and it is the trim that is worn, dated, or the wrong finish. If the lock body itself has failed, you need that too, and it has to be the one your door manufacturer used.
2) How do I tell whether the Emtek 16A1 trim will line up with the multipoint lock already in my patio door?

3) My patio door has the key cylinder above the lever. Will the Emtek 16A1 work?
No. The 16A1 is the below-handle arrangement, Door Configuration #6, with 3-5/8 inch center to center between the cylinder and the handle. A door prepped with the cylinder above the lever needs the above-handle Emtek Modern brass trim for that configuration instead. The plates are not reversible and the cylinder cannot be moved to the other end of the plate, so ordering this one for an above-handle door means sending it back.
4) Will the Emtek 16A1 multi point trim fit a Milgard or Pella swinging patio door?
Milgard and Pella are the door systems this trim is built to pair with. It still comes down to the prep in your particular door: it has to be a swinging patio door running a multipoint lock on Door Configuration #6, cylinder below the handle, 3-5/8 inch center to center. Milgard and Pella both built doors to other configurations over the years, so confirm the spacing off the door before ordering rather than off the brand name.
5) Can the Emtek 16A1 be keyed to match the Schlage keys I already use on the house?
Order the Schlage keyway version, which is the standard option, and a locksmith can key that American cylinder to your existing Schlage keys.
