That spacing plus the Door Configuration #6 hole pattern is what has to match the prep already in your patio door slab. Measure the existing plate on the door from the center of the handle spindle to the center of the lower hole; if it isn't 3-5/8 inches, this trim won't drop onto the existing bores and you need a different Emtek configuration.

Not keyed. The 16B3 is the non-keyed version: a thumbturn on the inside operates the multipoint from within, and there's no key cylinder in the set. It suits a patio door on a secured rear elevation or a door where you don't want anyone locked out of a key. If you need to key the door from outside, order the keyed version of this configuration instead, and specify the cylinder to match your keying.

Yes, handing is required, right hand or left hand, and it is not field-reversible on the order form. Stand outside the patio door facing it: if the hinges are on your right it's a right hand door. Get this wrong and the thumbturn and lever land on the wrong orientation. Lever style is a required selection too, so pick both before you submit.

Any Emtek brass lever works with the 16B3, and lever style is a required pick at order. The 2 by 10 Modern plate reads contemporary, so the bar levers keep it consistent, but nothing stops you pairing a traditional lever if that's what the rest of the house wears.

The plates measure 2 x 10 inches in the Modern (rectangular, contemporary) style. That's a fairly slim plate, so if you're pulling off a wider or taller trim, the footprint left behind may show.
