Emtek 2460-US26 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What comes in the box with the Emtek 2460 Neos doorbell, and do I need to buy screws separately?
The Emtek 2460 ships as a complete trim set: the Neos rosette plate, a lighted push button, and matching screws in the same finish. The screws aren't sold on their own, so don't lose them during rough-in. It is trim and button only, so you still need a chime and transformer, plus low voltage wiring run to the opening.
2) What finishes does the Emtek 2460 Neos doorbell come in so I can match my entry handleset?
Seven finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and Satin Brass (US4). Those are Emtek's standard brass-collection finish codes, so matching the US number on your entry handleset or knob gets you the same look. Unlacquered brass is left unsealed and will patina outdoors.
3) I want a square or rectangular doorbell plate instead of the Neos shape. What Emtek model do I order?
The Neos rosette is model 2460. Within Emtek's Contemporary group the other plate shapes are the Modern rosette 2457, Disk rosette 2458, Square rosette 2459, Modern Rectangular rosette 2463, and Urban Modern rosette 2465. If you want a long vertical plate, the STRETTO versions are 2440 with a 1-1/2 x 5 inch plate and 2441 with a 1-1/2 x 11 inch plate.
4) Is the Emtek 2460 doorbell button lighted?
Yes, the button is lighted, which is what makes it findable on a dark porch. The doorbell is classed as an electronic item, so it is wired into a standard low voltage chime circuit rather than being a self-contained wireless unit.
5) Is the Emtek 2460 doorbell brass or plated zinc?
Brass, both the material and the substrate, so the plate and button housing are solid brass under the finish rather than zinc die-cast. That matters on an exterior application where a plated zinc part tends to pit at the edges.
6) Is the Emtek 2460 doorbell approved for a commercial building entrance?
It is a residential-rated item. For a commercial lobby, storefront, or multi-family common entry where you want a graded, higher-traffic device, spec a commercial doorbell station instead. For single-family homes, condo unit doors, and short-term rental entries it is the right class of product.
7) I have a traditional or rustic house. Does Emtek make this doorbell in a matching style?
Yes, the same doorbell is built on other rosette families. Traditional looks are American Classic (2400 regular, 2402 oval, 2403 rectangular, 2408, 2409 Quincy, 2466 Watford, 2404 Wilshire) and American Designer (2401 rope, 2406 Lancaster, 2407 ribbon and reed). For rustic, look at Arts and Crafts 2451 and Hammered 2452, Sandcast Bronze 2421 through 2425, Tuscany lost wax cast bronze 2411, 2412, 2414, 2415, or Wrought Steel 2431, 2432, 2433. The 2460 Neos itself is the Contemporary curvilinear plate.
8) What does the Neos rosette on the Emtek 2460 actually look like?
Neos is one of Emtek's Contemporary designs, with a curvilinear plate profile rather than a hard-edged square or a plain round disk. If your other trim is strictly rectilinear, the Square rosette 2460's sibling 2459 or the Modern Rectangular 2463 will line up better visually.
