1) What comes in the box with the Emtek 2465 doorbell, and do I need to buy the button separately?
The Emtek 2465 Urban Modern Rosette doorbell ships as a complete trim set: the rosette plate, a lighted push button, and matching mounting screws. Nothing about the button is a separate order. One thing worth knowing up front is that Emtek does not sell those screws separately, so if one goes missing during install you are not able to order a replacement on its own.
2) What finishes does the Emtek 2465 Urban Modern doorbell come in, and will it match my other Emtek door hardware?
Seven finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and Satin Brass (US4). Those are standard Emtek finish codes, so if your entry handleset or knobs are Emtek in, say, US15, ordering the 2465 in US15 keeps the entry consistent. Worth flagging Unlacquered Brass: it is intentionally uncoated and will patina over time, so it will not stay matched to a lacquered brass lockset.
3) I want an Emtek doorbell but the Urban Modern rosette is too plain. What are the other Contemporary options?
Emtek's Contemporary doorbell group runs six rosette shapes, all built the same way with a lighted button and matching screws. The 2465 is the Urban Modern. The alternatives are the Modern rosette (2457), Disk (2458), Square (2459), Neos (2460), and Modern Rectangular (2463). If you want a longer vertical plate instead of a compact rosette, Emtek's STRETTO plates are 2440 at 1-1/2 by 5 inches and 2441 at 1-1/2 by 11 inches.
4) Does the Emtek 2465 include a chime or transformer?
No. The 2465 is the exterior trim and button only, supplied with the rosette plate, a lighted button, and matching screws. The chime unit and the transformer feeding the low voltage circuit are separate, so on a new install budget for both. On a replacement where you are just swapping a tired plastic button, the existing chime and transformer normally stay in place.
5) Is the Emtek 2465 doorbell button lighted?
Yes, the push button on the 2465 is a lighted button, so the guest can find it after dark without a separate porch light aimed at it. Emtek classes the 2465 as an electronic item, meaning it wires into a standard low voltage bell circuit rather than being a decorative cover plate only.
