The 5200 series electric strike features an in-frame horizontal adjustable design to simplify the installation process. This feature allows the installer to easily adjust the electric strike opening to accommodate the horizontal position of the latchbolt after the strike has been installed. This field selectable fail secure/fail safe unit is easy to install and accommodates latchbolts up to a 3/4" throw. 1) Will the HES 5200 electric strike work with my cylindrical lockset's latchbolt?
The HES 5200 is built for cylindrical locks and takes latchbolts from 5/8 inch up to 3/4 inch throw. The 3/4 inch case needs a 1/8 inch door gap to clear. If your lockset throws more than 3/4 inch, or you are working with a mortise lock or a rim exit device, this is the wrong strike.
2) Is the HES 5200 fire rated?

4) Can I set the HES 5200 to unlock on a power failure?
Fail safe and fail secure are field selectable on the 5200, so one part covers both. Set it fail safe and the strike releases when power drops, which suits egress-driven openings on an access control system. Set it fail secure and it stays locked on power loss, which is what most exterior and stairwell doors want.
5) Do I need to order a left hand or right hand version of the HES 5200?
