1) What size cabinet do I need for the Houzer M-200U 33 inch undermount sink?
A 36 inch base cabinet is the minimum for the M-200U. The sink itself measures 33 x 18-1/2 x 9-1/2 inches overall, and undermount installation needs the extra cabinet width for the countertop cutout and the mounting clips underneath. Drop it into a 33 inch base and there is nothing left to support the rim.
2) Can a granite composite undermount sink like the Houzer M-200U be installed under a laminate countertop?
Undermount sinks mount to the underside of the counter, so the M-200U needs a solid surface with a finished, sealed cutout edge, granite, quartz, solid surface or similar. Standard laminate with a particleboard core is not a suitable substrate for an undermount, because the exposed core takes on water at the cutout. For a laminate top, look at a topmount (drop-in) sink instead.
3) Will a standard garbage disposal fit the Houzer M-200U granite composite sink?
The M-200U has 3-1/2 inch drain openings, which is the standard kitchen sink opening that garbage disposals and basket strainers are built for. Both drains sit at the rear of the bowls, which keeps the trap arm and disposal further back in the cabinet and leaves more usable storage up front.
4) Does the Houzer M-200U come with a drain assembly or strainer?
Mounting clips, a cutout template and installation instructions ship with the M-200U, but the drain fittings do not. Order the 190-9180 basket strainer separately, plus bottom grids if you want them, 629811 for the right bowl and 629812 for the left. Budget the strainers into the job or the installer arrives without them.
5) Can I swap a 33 inch drop-in double bowl sink for the Houzer M-200U in an existing countertop?
Not as a straight swap. A drop-in sits in a rough cutout hidden by its own rim; the M-200U mounts underneath and needs a finished, polished cutout edge plus a substrate that will hold clips. Converting from topmount to undermount in an existing laminate or tile top means a new countertop. In an existing stone top, a fabricator can re-cut and polish the opening, but the 33 x 18-1/2 inch footprint has to be checked against what is already there first.
6) Is granite composite or stainless steel the better choice for a rental or multi-family kitchen sink?
Granite composite, like the Quartztone material on the M-200U, is 80 percent quartz sand, non-porous and heat resistant to 500 degrees F, and it does not show water spots or scratch-polish the way a brushed stainless bowl does over a tenant turn. It is also quieter under running water with no pad needed. Stainless is lighter and more forgiving of a dropped cast iron pan. For units where the sink has to still look presentable after several tenancies, the composite holds appearance better.

No faucet holes are drilled in the M-200U. Undermount sinks sit below the counter, so the faucet and any soap dispenser or air switch get drilled into the countertop or mounted on the deck behind the sink.
