1) What size cabinet do I need for the Houzer P-175U 33 inch double bowl sink?
Plan on a 36 inch base cabinet minimum. The sink itself measures 33 x 20-6/8 x 9-1/2 inches overall, so a 33 inch cabinet will not take it once you allow for the reveal and the mounting hardware. If your run is built around 30 or 33 inch sink bases, this is the wrong size sink for the opening.
2) Will a standard garbage disposal and basket strainer fit the Houzer P-175U?
Both drain openings are 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard US kitchen sink size, so a standard disposal flange or a 3-1/2 inch basket strainer mounts directly. Houzer's matching strainer is part 190-9180. Drains are positioned to the rear of the bowls, which keeps more usable shelf space under the cabinet for a disposal and trap.
3) Can the P-175U granite composite sink be mounted undermount to a laminate countertop?
It is an undermount sink and needs a countertop that can be cut and finished at the edge of the opening, which means stone, quartz, or solid surface. Laminate has an exposed particleboard core at the cut edge and is not a suitable substrate for a standard undermount install. If your tops are laminate, look at a drop-in or topmount sink instead.
4) Does the Houzer P-175U come with clips and a template, or do I need to buy an undermount kit?
Mounting hardware and installation instructions ship with the sink, and a cutout template is included as well, so the fabricator or installer has what they need to set it. What is not included: the drain assembly or disposal flange, the faucet, and bottom grids. Houzer's grids for this model are 629801 and 629802.
