1) Does the Houzer PTU-2400 sink come with mounting hardware or clips?
No mounting hardware ships with the PTU-2400. Fireclay undermount sinks carry real weight, so the installer supplies the support framing or brackets and the adhesive. Installation instructions are included with the sink. What does come in the box on the -C versions is the basket strainer and the bottom grid; the sink-only versions ship without those.
2) What is the difference between Houzer PTU-2400-WH and PTU-2400-WH-C?
The suffix is the accessory package. PTU-2400-WH is the sink by itself; PTU-2400-WH-C is the same sink bundled with the basket strainer and basin grid. Same pairing in biscuit: PTU-2400-BQ is sink only, PTU-2400-BQ-C includes the strainer and grid. If you already stock strainers, the plain version avoids paying twice.
3) Will a standard garbage disposal fit the Houzer PTU-2400 drain?
The drain opening is 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard kitchen size that disposal mounting assemblies are built for. Drain position is rear, so the tailpiece drops toward the back of the cabinet and leaves usable storage space in front of the trap. The bowl is 7-1/4 inches deep inside, so check your disposal height against the cabinet floor before you set the sink.
4) Will a 24 inch Houzer Platus fireclay sink hold a full size baking sheet?
Interior bowl works out to 22 x 14-1/2 inches with a 7-1/4 inch depth, so a half sheet pan (18 x 13) lies flat and a full sheet (26 x 18) does not. Roasting pans and stockpots clear fine at that depth. The rounded corners have a small radius rather than a true square corner, so usable bottom area is slightly less than the full 22 by 14-1/2.
5) Should I choose a fireclay undermount sink or stainless steel for a rental kitchen?
Fireclay is the pick when you want a finished ceramic look that will not dent or show water spots, and the PTU-2400 surface is non-porous and resists stains, chips and scratches after firing over 20 hours at 2200 degrees F. Stainless is lighter, easier for one person to set, and shrugs off a dropped cast iron pan that could chip a ceramic rim. In a high-turnover rental where a heavy pan gets dropped, stainless takes abuse better; in a unit where appearance sells, fireclay wins.
6) Can I replace an existing 24 inch undermount sink with the Houzer PTU-2400 without changing the countertop?
Only if the existing cutout is smaller than 23-7/16 x 16-1/8 inches, or the new sink will show gaps at the reveal. Swapping undermount to undermount means the old cutout has to fall inside the new sink's rim footprint, and stone can be trimmed larger but never smaller. Rear drain also has to line up with your existing trap arm, though a fireclay swap usually gets new tailpiece plumbing anyway. Measure the cutout, not the old sink.
7) What colors does the Houzer PTU-2400 Platus sink come in?
Two glaze colors, gloss white and gloss biscuit. Both are available either as sink only or bundled with the strainer and grid, so any of the four combinations can be ordered. If you are standardizing across several units, gloss white is the one that matches most existing white ceramic and quartz counters; biscuit is the warmer off-white and will read as a mismatch next to a bright white sink on an adjacent opening.
8) Does the Houzer PTU-2400 fireclay sink have a plumbing code listing?
ICC is the certification carried on the PTU-2400. Institutional and multi-family buyers who need a listed fixture on the submittal for permit review can cite that. The sink is made in Turkey/China under Houzer's own ISO-certified fireclay production.
9) Do I need a bottom grid in a fireclay sink, or is it optional?
Worth having. The BG-7400 bottom grid lifts pots off the glaze so a dropped pan lands on stainless rather than the fired surface, and it keeps the rear drain clear when you are rinsing. Houzer includes both the grid and the 190-9180 basket strainer on the PTU-2400-WH-C and PTU-2400-BQ-C. Order one of those rather than the sink-only version if you want the set matched to the bowl.
