1) Does the Houzer PTU-3200 come with mounting hardware or clips?
No mounting hardware ships with the PTU-3200. Fireclay undermounts are set on a support frame built into the cabinet and bonded to the underside of the stone with silicone, which is how the fabricator normally handles it. Installation instructions are included, but the brackets, cleats, or plywood cradle are on you.
2) Will a garbage disposal fit the drain openings on this Houzer fireclay sink?
Both bowls take a 3-1/2 inch drain, which is the standard opening a residential disposal flange mounts to. Drains are rear-positioned on each bowl, which keeps the P-trap and disposal tucked toward the back wall and frees up usable shelf space under the cabinet.
3) What is included when I order the PTU-3200 with basket strainer and basin grids?
That configuration adds two basket strainers (190-9180) and a left and right bottom grid (BG-7050L and BG-7050R) to the sink. There is also a sink-only version if you already have strainers or prefer a disposal flange on one side. Both options come in Gloss White and Gloss Biscuit.
4) Does the PTU-3200 include a faucet or have faucet holes drilled?
No faucet ships with it, and as an undermount sink there is no deck to drill. Faucet holes go in the countertop or the backsplash, so you can set the faucet, air gap, soap dispenser, and filtered water tap wherever the layout calls for.
5) Can the PTU-3200 be installed as a drop-in on a laminate countertop?
No. The Platus PTU-3200 is built strictly as an undermount and has no rim to sit on a deck, so it needs a solid surface top (granite, quartz, or similar) that can be fabricated with a finished sink cutout. On laminate you would need a drop-in or a laminate-rated undermount system instead.
6) Is fireclay durable enough for a rental or multi-family kitchen?
The Platus PTU-3200 is 100 percent fireclay, fired more than 20 hours at 2200 degrees F, giving a non-porous glazed surface that resists staining, discoloration, chipping, and scratching. For turn units that is a practical advantage over a coated or composite bowl, since the finish does not dull from abrasive cleaning. Rounded corners with a tight radius keep it easy to wipe out between tenants.
7) Does the Houzer PTU-3200 carry a code listing for a permitted job?
It carries an ICC certification, which is the listing a plumbing inspector on a permitted kitchen job typically wants to see for a fixture of this type.
8) What is the difference between Gloss White and Gloss Biscuit on the Platus PTU-3200?
Those are the two glaze colors offered, and they are the only difference between PTU-3200-WH and PTU-3200-BQ. White is the bright neutral; Biscuit is the warmer off-white that tends to match older appliance and tile palettes. Add the -C suffix on either one for the version that comes with strainers and grids.
