1) Does the Nibco Chemtrol 4506-3-3 PVC elbow glue on or thread on?
It threads. Both openings are female NPT, so the fitting is F x F and takes male-threaded pipe or nipples on each side. No solvent cement is used at these joints, so use a thread sealant rated for PVC and do not overtighten. If your run is socket (slip) on both ends, this is the wrong fitting for you.
2) Can I use this PVC elbow on a hot water line?
No. Maximum service temperature is 140 degrees F, which rules out domestic hot water, boiler piping, and most process hot lines. Keep it on cold or ambient-temperature service. Bear in mind pressure ratings on Schedule 80 PVC also fall off as temperature climbs toward that limit.
3) Is this Chemtrol PVC fitting safe for compressed air lines?
No, and this one is worth being firm about. The manufacturer states not to use or test with compressed air or other gases. PVC failing under gas pressure fragments. Use it on liquid service only, and hydrostatically test with water, not air.
4) Is the Nibco Chemtrol Schedule 80 elbow approved for potable water?

5) Will a Schedule 80 threaded PVC elbow work in an irrigation or industrial process line, or is it only for plumbing?
