The dark grey PVC elbow features a female socket and female pipe thread connections to change the direction of piping 90 degrees. Chemtrol® fittings connect PVC piping lengths together with solvent cementing, threading or flanging to create a highly reliable, leak-free system. Please refer to Chemtrol technical data sheets, chemical resistance guides and catalogs for engineering and installation information. PVC Schedule 80 has the highest long-term hydrostatic strength of any other major thermoplastic material used for piping. Chemtrol® PVC fittings are lightweight, easy to install, maintenance-free, and will not rust, scale, pit or corrode. Chemtrol® premium line of plastic fittings is backed by a 1-year limited warranty. Because Chemtrol® is a NIBCO brand the flow-control fittings are unsurpassed in quality, performance and longevity.

Nibco CA07515 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Nibco 4507-3 PVC elbow glue on one side and thread on the other?
Right. The 4507-3 is an S x F (NPT) 90 degree elbow: one end is a female socket you solvent cement to Schedule 80 PVC pipe, the other is a female NPT thread that takes a male threaded pipe or nipple. That makes it the transition fitting when you need to break a cemented run into a threaded connection, such as at a pump, valve or meter.
2) Can I use this PVC elbow on a hot water line?
No. Maximum service temperature on the Chemtrol PVC elbow is 140 F, so it is not suitable for domestic hot water or any heated process line above that. For hot water you want CPVC or metal. Cold water, irrigation and ambient-temperature chemical service is where this fitting belongs.
3) Is the Nibco 4507-3 elbow approved for potable water?
It is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 14 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61, and it is listed as a lead-free application fitting, which is what a facility or municipal spec asks for on drinking water systems. It also meets ASTM D2467, the standard for Schedule 80 PVC socket-type fittings.
4) Will a Schedule 80 PVC elbow fit Schedule 40 PVC pipe?
Yes on the socket side. Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC share the same outside diameter at a given nominal size, so the 4507-3 socket cements onto Sch 40 pipe of the matching size. The difference is wall thickness and pressure rating, and Schedule 80 has the highest long-term hydrostatic strength of the major thermoplastics used for piping. The threaded end is standard female NPT, so it mates with any male NPT pipe thread.
5) Can I use this PVC fitting on a compressed air line?
No, and do not pressure test with air either. The Chemtrol instructions are explicit: do not use or test with compressed air or other gases. Hydrostatic test with water only. Air testing plastic pipe risks a shatter failure, not a leak.
6) What pipe sizes does the Nibco 4507-3 Schedule 80 elbow come in?
Six straight sizes: 1/2 inch (CA07505), 3/4 inch (CA07510), 1 inch (CA07515), 1-1/4 inch (CA07520), 1-1/2 inch (CA07525) and 2 inch (CA07530). All are straight size, meaning both ends match the nominal pipe size, so there is no reducing version here.
7) Is the dark grey Nibco elbow suitable for industrial chemical piping?
Dark grey Schedule 80 PVC is the standard industrial color, and the 4507-3 is listed for commercial plumbing, industrial and irrigation service. PVC will not rust, scale, pit or corrode, which is why it gets used on chemical lines, but chemical compatibility depends on the fluid. Check the Chemtrol chemical resistance guide for the specific media before you commit.
8) Do I need thread sealant on the FPT end of this PVC elbow, or solvent cement?
Two different joining methods on the one fitting. The socket end is solvent cemented with PVC primer and cement. The female NPT end is a mechanical thread joint, so cement never goes near it. Neither is included with the elbow, so order cement, primer and thread sealant separately as the job requires.
9) What is the universal part number for a Sch 80 PVC socket by FPT 90 elbow?
The industry universal part number is 807, and Nibco/Chemtrol catalogs it as the 4507-3. If a drawing or purchase spec calls out a 807 fitting in Schedule 80 PVC, this is the matching item.
