The dark grey PVC elbow features female socket connections to change the direction of piping 90 degrees. Chemtrol® fittings connect PVC piping lengths together with solvent cementing, threading or flanging to create a highly reliable, leak-free system. Please refer to Chemtrol technical data sheets, chemical resistance guides and catalogs for engineering and installation information. PVC Schedule 80 has the highest long-term hydrostatic strength of any other major thermoplastic material used for piping. Chemtrol® PVC fittings are lightweight, easy to install, maintenance-free, and will not rust, scale, pit or corrode. Chemtrol® premium line of plastic fittings is backed by a 1-year limited warranty. Because Chemtrol® is a NIBCO brand the flow-control fittings are unsurpassed in quality, performance and longevity.

Nibco CA06600 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Nibco 4507 elbow need solvent cement, or can I thread it onto pipe?
Both ends are female sockets (S x S), so the 4507 is a solvent-cement fitting. Pipe slides into the socket and is joined with PVC primer and cement. There are no threads on this one. If you need to transition to threaded pipe, you want a threaded (FIPT or MIPT) Schedule 80 elbow or an adapter instead.
2) What pipe sizes does the Nibco 4507 Schedule 80 90-degree elbow come in?
Twelve sizes, from 1/4 inch up to 8 inch: 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 inch. It is a straight-size elbow, so both sockets are the same size, no reducing versions. Order by size, for example CA06750 for 2 inch and CA06900 for 4 inch.
3) Will a Schedule 80 PVC socket elbow fit Schedule 40 PVC pipe?
Yes. Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC share the same outside diameters at a given nominal size, so the 4507 sockets accept Sch 40 pipe of the same size. The difference is wall thickness, not OD: Sch 80 has a thicker wall and a smaller bore, so mixing it into a Sch 40 line slightly restricts flow at the fitting. For a full Sch 80 pressure system, run Sch 80 pipe throughout.
4) Can I use this PVC elbow on a hot water line?
No. Maximum service temperature is 140 degrees F, which rules out domestic hot water and any hot process line. PVC also loses pressure rating as temperature climbs. For higher temperatures, move to CPVC.
5) Is the Nibco 4507 elbow approved for potable water?
It is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 14 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61, the drinking-water system component standards, and it is listed as lead-free. The fitting also meets ASTM D2467 for Schedule 80 socket-type PVC fittings, which is the spec usually called out on plumbing drawings.
6) Can I use this fitting on a compressed air line?
No, and this matters for safety. Nibco states plainly that the fitting must not be used or tested with compressed air or other gases. PVC failures under gas pressure are explosive. Test hydrostatically with water only, and use metal piping for air service.
7) Is dark grey Schedule 80 PVC the right fitting for an irrigation or industrial chemical line?
The 4507 is built for commercial plumbing, industrial, and irrigation service, and it is the dark grey Chemtrol Schedule 80 body. Schedule 80 PVC carries the highest long-term hydrostatic strength of the major thermoplastic piping materials and will not rust, scale, pit, or corrode. For chemical service, check the Chemtrol chemical resistance guide against your specific media before committing.
8) Is the Nibco 4507 the same as a Universal Part No. 806 elbow?
Yes. The 4507 socket 90-degree elbow carries Universal Part No. 806, the industry designation for a Schedule 80 PVC socket x socket 90 elbow. If a submittal or takeoff lists an 806, this is the fitting.
9) Is this a 90-degree elbow or a 45?
Ninety degrees, a full quarter bend. It turns the run a right angle. If you need a shallower turn to ease flow or clear an obstruction, you want the Schedule 80 45-degree (1/8 bend) socket elbow instead.
