1) Are all three openings on the Nibco Chemtrol 5112-3-3 CPVC tee female threaded?
All three ports are female NPT, configured F x F x F. It is a straight size tee, so the branch matches the run, and there is no socket end for solvent cement anywhere on the fitting. If you need a cemented connection at one leg you need a different fitting.
2) How hot can this CPVC tee run?
Maximum service temperature is 210 degrees F. That is what makes Corzan CPVC the choice over PVC for hot water and heated process lines. Keep in mind that pressure rating drops as temperature climbs, so size the system off the Chemtrol pressure/temperature data for your operating temp.
3) Can I use this CPVC fitting on a potable water system?

4) Can I air test a CPVC Schedule 80 line built with these tees?
No. Do not use or test these Chemtrol CPVC fittings with compressed air or other gases. Thermoplastic systems store energy under gas pressure and can fail violently. Hydrostatic test only.
5) Should I use a threaded CPVC tee or a socket solvent-weld tee?
Threaded, like this F x F x F tee, is what you want where the joint has to come apart later, at equipment connections, instrument taps, or where you cannot cement in place. Solvent-cemented socket fittings give a stronger, permanently sealed joint and are the normal choice for buried and long-run process piping. Chemtrol CPVC systems join by solvent cementing, threading or flanging, so you can mix methods within one system.
6) Will this CPVC tee hold up in an industrial chemical line?

7) How do I tell CPVC from PVC fittings on the job?
Color. These Chemtrol Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 fittings are light grey; Schedule 80 PVC is normally dark grey and CPVC in some lines is tan. Do not mix them in a hot line, PVC is not rated for the 210 degree F service CPVC handles.
