The double long turn tee-wye features solder cups and long turn radius. This fitting allows for a connection to be made in continuous pipeline and branch out in two different directions. The long turn radius enhances the takeaway of waste water. Please refer to NIBCO technical data sheets and catalogs for engineering and installation information. In addition to its inherent qualities of beauty, durability and low maintenance, copper's reusability makes it an ideal application in sustainable projects. NIBCO® copper fittings are manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified facility, and backed by a 50-year limited warranty. Because of its longstanding reputation for innovation and precision in design and manufacturing, NIBCO is the preferred brand in the industry.

Nibco E280150 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What sizes does the Nibco 836 double long turn tee-wye come in?
Three configurations: 1-1/2 inch all around (E281050), 2 inch all around (E280150), and a reducing 2 x 2 x 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch (E280200). The reducing version takes a 2 inch run with two 1-1/2 inch branch inlets, which is the usual way to tie two lavatory or tub drains into a 2 inch waste line.
2) Is the Nibco 836 tee-wye soldered or threaded?
All four openings are solder cups (C x C x C x C), so it sweats onto copper DWV tube with solder or brazing filler. There are no threads on it. If the job calls for a threaded or no-hub connection, this is not the fitting.
3) Can I use this copper tee-wye on a pressure water line?
No. The 836 is a DWV fitting, made for drain, waste and vent only. DWV copper and its fittings are not rated for pressure service, so a supply line needs a pressure-rated wrot or cast copper fitting instead.
4) Which Nibco 836 do I order for two 1-1/2 inch fixture arms coming into a 2 inch stack?
Part E280200, the 2 x 2 x 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch version. The 2 inch cups take the stack above and below, the two 1-1/2 inch cups take the fixture arms, and no bushings are needed. If the fixture arms are also 2 inch, order E280150 instead.
5) What is the difference between a long turn tee-wye and a short turn sanitary tee?
The long turn radius on the 836 sweeps the branch flow into the main line gradually, which carries solids better and reduces the chance of stoppage. A short turn sanitary tee brings the branch in at a sharper angle and is generally used on vertical vent or where space is tight. Use the long turn where drainage flow matters, such as horizontal-to-vertical waste connections.
6) Why is this called a double tee-wye and what does it connect?
It lands in a continuous pipeline and takes two branch inlets off opposite sides at the same point, so two fixture drains tie into one run without stacking two separate fittings. The branch entries are on a 90 degree (1/4 bend) pattern, which is what lets it serve back-to-back fixtures across a common wall.
7) What is the Nibco 836 tee-wye made of, and will it hold up in aggressive water?
It is cast bronze, ASTM B584 alloy C84400, and dezincification resistant, so it resists the zinc leaching that can weaken ordinary brass in aggressive water. Material and workmanship follow ASME B16.23.
8) Is the Nibco 836 acceptable for commercial work or only residential?
Both. Nibco lists the 836 for commercial and residential plumbing systems, and the cast bronze body built to ASME B16.23 is the DWV fitting standard specifiers write on commercial drawings.
