1) Can the Nibco W45BF-V-LH PVC butterfly valve be used as an isolation valve at the end of a line?
No. The W45BF-V-LH is a wafer style butterfly valve and cannot be used as an isolation valve. A wafer body is clamped between two flanges and relies on the downstream flange to retain the liner and disc, so if you need to isolate a branch and remove downstream piping while the line stays pressurized, use a lug style or a full-body valve instead.
2) What flanges will this Chemtrol PVC Sch 80 butterfly valve bolt up to?
The flanged end connections are compatible with ANSI B16.5 Class 150 bolt patterns, so it drops between standard Class 150 flanges in 4 inch or 6 inch line size. It is a wafer body, meaning it sits between two mating flanges rather than bolting to one side.
3) What is the pressure rating on the 4 inch versus the 6 inch Nibco W45BF-V-LH?
