1) Is the D72 ring terminal insulated, and does that matter for my panel?
It is a non-insulated terminal, bare copper with no sleeve over the barrel. That means you supply the insulation yourself if the installation needs it, typically heat shrink or tape over the crimp barrel, and you keep clearance from adjacent live parts. If you want the insulation built in, choose an insulated ring terminal instead.
2) What voltage is the Sta-Kon D72 rated for?
600 V. That covers standard commercial branch circuit and control panel work, and it is UL recognized under file E9809.
3) Can I use the D72 on aluminum conductor?
No. The D72 barrel is copper and is intended for copper conductor. Aluminum needs a terminal listed AL9CU or aluminum-specific, with the appropriate inhibitor compound.
4) Is the D72 crimped or soldered?
It is a crimp terminal. Non-insulated Sta-Kon lugs are installed with the matching Sta-Kon crimp tool and die for the barrel size; a generic pliers crimp will not give a listed connection. Order the terminal and the correct die together if you do not already have the tool.
5) Is the Sta-Kon D72 made in the USA?
