Yes. The FTHS Series flat track with horseshoe hangers is built for interior doors at either 1-3/8 or 1-3/4 inches thick. Anything thicker or thinner than those two thicknesses is outside what the hangers and spacers are set up for, so an exterior slab or a thick solid-core custom door won't mount correctly.
2) How much door weight can the Orca FTHS flat track hold?
200 pounds per door. That covers most 1-3/8 inch hollow and solid-core interior slabs and typical solid-core 1-3/4 inch doors, but a heavy glass or oversized slab above 200 lbs needs a higher capacity system.
3) What comes in the Orca FTHS track kit, and what do I still have to buy?
The kit ships with the track, 2 hangers, spacers, end stops, anti-jump blocks, a connector plate for optional use, door guides, all fasteners, and instructions. So the running gear and mounting hardware are covered. What it does not include is the door itself or any pull, flush pull, or privacy latch, and soft close/soft open, double door, and bypass conversions are separate options.
4) Do I have to specify left or right hand for the Orca FTHS track kit?
No handing to call out. The FTHS flat track hardware is non-handed, so the same kit slides the door left or right depending on which side of the opening you mount the track. That makes it easier to standardize one part number across a building where openings run both directions.
5) Can I use the Orca FTHS flat track for a double barn door or a bypass setup?
Not as the base kit ships. A standard FTHS kit is one track with 2 hangers, which carries a single door. Orca lists separate options for double door and bypass applications, so those need to be specified rather than assembled from the single-door kit.
6) Is this barn door hardware quiet enough for a hotel corridor or office?
The FTHS hangers run polymer wheels rather than steel, which keeps the roll noise down on the flat track, and Orca rates the series for commercial use. For openings where you also don't want the slam at the end of travel, soft close and soft open are available as an added option.
7) Will the Orca FTHS barn door keep from being lifted off the track?
