Orca Hardware FTST Series Flat Track Standard Drop Hanger

No handing to specify. The FTST Series standard drop hanger is non-handed, so the same part works whether the barn door slides left or right, and a building with doors running both directions can stock one hanger for all of them.

It's a thru bolt hanger, so the fasteners pass through the door and are secured from the back side rather than screwed into the face only. That means the door has to be drilled through, and both faces of the door will show the bolt hardware. Plan for it on a finished-both-sides door.

Sidewall mount. The FTST hanger is built around a track fastened to the wall above the opening, not suspended from the ceiling. If your opening has no solid wall or header to carry a flat track, this hanger set isn't the one for that condition.

The FTST-HANGER is the hanger itself, the roller assembly that carries the door on the track. The flat track, and the stops, guide, and any pulls, are separate items in the same FTST Series. Order the track length to suit the opening, typically about twice the door width for a single door, and confirm the rest of the trim pieces on the same order so the finish matches.

A standard drop hanger, like the FTST, straps down the face of the door and hangs the wheel above it, so it suits a door of ordinary thickness on a wall-mounted flat track and leaves the top edge of the door visible below the rail. A top mount style instead fastens to the top edge of the door and is what you reach for when the wall above the opening is tight or you want the strap hidden. Because the FTST is a thru bolt design, the door has to be drilled through for it either way.
