1) How much weight will the Orca FTSP mini flat track kit carry?
The FTSP Series cabinet flat track is rated for sliding doors or panels up to 60 lbs. That covers cabinet fronts, furniture doors, mirrors and light panels. It is not a passage door system, so a solid core barn door belongs on full size barn door track instead.
2) What door thickness does the Orca FTSP-MINI-BL-5 track work with?
Maximum door thickness is 1-3/8 inches. Cabinet and furniture panels are usually well under that, but if your slab is a standard 1-3/4 inch door it will not work with the spear hangers in this kit.
3) What comes in the Orca 5 foot cabinet flat track kit, and do I need anything else?
The single door kit ships complete: 5 foot track, two hangers, spacers, end stops, anti-jump blocks, door guides, all fasteners and instructions. For a double door opening the kit adds two hangers, end stops, anti-jump blocks, door guides and fasteners. You supply the door or panel and whatever pull you want on it.
4) Does the Orca FTSP track mount to the wall or to the ceiling?
Sidewall mount. The track fastens to the face above the opening, which on a cabinet or built-in means the header or face frame has to be solid enough to take the fasteners. There is no ceiling-mount bracket in this kit.
5) Do I have to order the Orca FTSP kit left or right hand?
No handing to specify. The FTSP mini flat track is non-handed, so the same kit works whether the panel slides left or right, and the same hardware covers a bypass-style double door setup.
6) Does this cabinet slider keep the door from jumping the track or swinging at the bottom?
Both are handled in the kit. Anti-jump blocks keep the hangers seated on the track, and door guides at the floor or cabinet base keep the panel from swinging off the face. End stops set the travel limits on each side.
7) Is the Orca FTSP mini track strong enough for commercial casework?
It is classified as commercial hardware and the track is steel, in a black finish. The limit is load, not duty: 60 lbs per panel and 1-3/8 inch maximum thickness. For hospitality or office casework with light doors it fits; for anything heavier you need a full size barn door track.
8) Will the Orca FTSP kit work with hangers other than spear style?
This kit is built around spear hangers and ships with two of them. If you want a different hanger profile you need the matching Orca flat track kit for that hanger style, since the hanger and track pairing is what sets the kit apart from the rest of the mini flat track line.
