Paxton Net2 Plus, Single Door Controller with Metal Enclosure, 12/24VDC PSU with Trigger Disconnect, Wall Mount, TCP/IP, DHCP, 26 Bit Wiegand, 12-24VDC, UL, FCC

Net2 plus is a single door access control unit and is the most advanced control unit in the Paxton range. Employing the latest technology, it offers huge potential for future expansion and as security technology develops, Net2 plus can take full advantage. Unlike many systems of its type, Net2 plus is truly future-proof. Using Net2 plus ensures that the investment in access control is safe no matter how the system requirements change. Net2 plus has on-board TCP/IP to allow direct connection to a computer network. This can save time, money and result in a better, more resilient system. Net2 plus control units can also be connected together using a dedicated RS485 network. This reduces the number of TCP/IP network points required for larger systems. As with all Net2 control units, Net2 plus is designed to work seamlessly in the event of communications failure. It will continue to permit or deny access to users as appropriate. Once communications are re-established the activity is reported back to the PC. Note: This is a 24V PSU with 12/24V output. The requirement for this power supply is that there is a 24V circuit on the site. Alternatively a transformer to step down from 110V to 24V will be required.

Paxton Access Inc 682-610-US – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Paxton Net2 Plus Single Door Controller used for?
This controller manages access for one door or entry point. It connects card readers, electric strikes, and magnetic locks to create a complete access control system. The metal enclosure protects components in commercial and industrial environments.
2) What readers and credentials work with this controller?
Compatible with Paxton proximity cards, key fobs, and readers. Works with 125kHz proximity technology. Supports Paxton Switch2 readers and other Paxton proximity devices. Check reader specifications for proper wiring requirements.
3) How is power supplied to this unit?
Operates on 12-24VDC power supply. Includes built-in PSU with trigger disconnect feature. The trigger disconnect allows remote power cycling for troubleshooting. Verify power requirements for connected locks and readers.
4) What door hardware can this controller operate?
Controls electric strikes, magnetic locks, and electric bolts. Output ratings support most standard door hardware. Check lock power consumption against controller specifications. Can trigger door position sensors and request-to-exit devices.
5) Does this meet fire and building code requirements?
Controller supports fire alarm integration for code compliance. Configure fail-safe operation during emergencies. Connect request-to-exit devices for proper egress. Consult local codes and fire marshal for specific requirements in your jurisdiction.
6) What accessories are needed for installation?
Requires Paxton proximity reader and cards or fobs. Need appropriate door hardware like electric strike or magnetic lock. Requires low-voltage wiring between components. Request-to-exit button or motion sensor recommended for proper operation.
7) How difficult is the installation process?
