Paxton Net2 Plus – Single Door Expansion Kit, Low voltage PSU

Net2 plus is a networked access control system. A networked system gives the advantages of central control, event reporting and flexible control over users' access. Each control unit is part of a network but can run independently making its own decisions and remembering events. One Net2 plus control unit can be the network interface to the LAN and also run a wired RS485 daisy chain of other Net2 plus or Net2 classic units, removing the need for an independent TCP/IP to RS485 converter. Net2 plus is available with 12/24V power supply AC DC, power over Ethernet (POE), or trigger disconnect power supply for, which is suitable for fire alarm disconnect. PoE is a technology that allows both power and data to be passed along Ethernet cabling. Net2 plus with PoE simply plugs straight into the existing LAN using a standard RJ45 plug (providing it is powered by either a PoE switch or a PoE injector). Control units are sold as a PCB board only or within a plastic housing. The Net2 plus unit now comes with PoE+ power supply in metal/plastic cabinet; no separate mains supply back-up required.

1) What comes in the Paxton Net2 Plus single door expansion kit?
The kit ships with two Net2 plus controllers in metal cabinets, two P50M readers, one USB enrollment reader, 10 keyfobs and 10 cards, and Net2 Pro software. That's enough to read in and out on a door, plus the desktop enrollment reader you need to register credentials without walking to the door.

24VAC. Net2 plus controllers are offered with 12/24V AC or DC supplies, so make sure the transformer or supply feeding the controller matches before you wire it in.

Each Net2 plus control unit runs independently, making its own access decisions and storing events locally, even though it's part of a network. If the LAN or the PC drops, the door keeps granting access to valid credentials and the events are reported once the connection is back.
7) Do I have to use Paxton readers with the Net2 plus controller, or can I keep my existing ones?
The controller works with Paxton Access readers or third party readers. The kit includes two P50M readers, but if you already have compatible third party readers at the opening you aren't forced to swap them.
8) Is the Net2 plus controller supplied as a bare board or in an enclosure?
Net2 plus control units are sold either as a PCB board only or in a housing. The controllers in this kit are supplied in metal cabinets, so no separate enclosure is needed to mount them.
