Rockwood ROC-T110-US32D – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Rockwood T110 pull give enough hand clearance for barrier-free openings?
The standard T110 has 2 inch clearance between the bar and the door. If you need more room for a gloved or closed fist, Rockwood makes the same pull with 2-1/2 inch barrier-free clearance by adding the BF prefix, ordered as TBF110.
2) My door is thinner than 1-3/4 inch. Should I still order the Rockwood T110?
The T110 ships with bolts cut for 1-3/4 inch, and Rockwood asks that any other thickness be advised at time of order. If you're working on thinner residential-weight doors, the Deltana OHP620 offset back-to-back pull set is listed for 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 inch doors, and the Sure-Loc square long pull covers 1/2 inch through 2-1/4 inch thick doors.
3) What is the closest straight-bar equivalent to the Rockwood T110 door pull in 1 inch diameter?
The Ives 8103HD is the nearest straight match in concept: a heavy duty straight door pull in 1 inch round stock with through bolt mounting, the same fastening approach the T110 uses with its 1/4-20 x 2-1/4 inch thru bolt and finish washer for a standard 1-3/4 inch door. Both are straight bar pulls rather than offset. The ABH AB3300 is another 1.00 inch diameter straight commercial pull if you want a flat end profile instead.
4) I need an offset pull instead of a straight tubular one - what are the options?
The Rockwood T110 is a straight tubular pull. For an offset shape, the Ives 8169 is a C style offset solid pull in 1 inch diameter with heavy duty mounting, and the Ives 8145EZHD is a 45 degree offset pull described as ADA compliant with heavy duty mounting hardware. The ABH AB3310 offers an offset flat end profile and the ABH AB3330 an offset round end with custom length options.
5) The T110 has a 3 inch projection - what should I use if I need the pull to sit tighter to the door face?
The Rockwood T110 is a tubular pull with a 3 inch projection and 2 inch clearance. If you need less stand-off, the Ives 8102HD is a heavy duty straight pull built from 3/4 inch round bar with 1-1/2 inch clearance, which brings the grip closer to the door face and uses a smaller diameter bar.
6) We need back-to-back pulls on a glass or interior door - is the T110 the right call or is there a set that ships as a pair?
The Rockwood T110 can be ordered back to back in pairs using the BTB suffix with the mounting type number, and it is a commercial stainless steel pull. If you would rather buy a set configured as a pair out of the box, the Deltana OHP620 is an off-set handle pull sold as a back-to-back set for doors 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 inches thick, and the Deltana SSPOBB24 and SSPORBB24 are 24 inch back-to-back offset pulls in modern flat and round profiles. The Sure-Loc PL-2KN is a knurled long pull in a double-sided configuration.
7) Can the T110 tubular pull be mounted back to back on a glass or full-glass door?
Back-to-back mounting in pairs is an ordering option on the tubular pull family, specified with the BTB suffix plus the mounting type number (Rockwood's own example is T112BTB5). The standard T110 as configured is a thru-bolted single pull, so the back-to-back version is a separate order, not something you assemble from two singles.
8) I don't want bolt heads showing on the back of the door. Is there a concealed mount version?
Yes. Concealed mounting on single pulls is ordered with a C suffix and the mounting type number (Rockwood shows it as T112C6). The standard configuration is thru-bolted with exposed finish washers on the opposite face, so if the back side is a finished or public face, specify the concealed mount.
9) Is the Rockwood T110 pull suitable for a high traffic commercial entrance?
It's a commercial-duty pull, stainless steel construction, with standard duty 1/4-20 thru-bolt mounting through the door rather than surface screws. Thru-bolting is what keeps a pull tight under constant pulling, which is why it's used on institutional, office, retail, school, hotel and restaurant openings.
10) Is the T110 a pull only, or does it include a push plate for the other side?
The T110 is the pull alone. On a push/pull opening you order the plate separately. Trimco's 1001-1 heavy duty push plate is a 3 x 12 inch plate, and the 1070 Series classic push/pull plates run 3-1/2 x 15 inches if you want a taller plate to sit behind the pull.
11) Is a Trimco 1070 push/pull plate a substitute for a Rockwood T110 pull?
No. The Trimco 1070 series is a classic push/pull plate measuring 3-1/2 inches by 15 inches - a flat plate that covers the door face. The Rockwood T110 is a tubular grip pull with 8 inch center-to-center and a 3 inch projection, mounted through the door. They serve different openings: the plate protects the door face and gives a shallow grip, the T110 gives a full hand grip standing off the door. The Trimco 1001 heavy duty push plate at 3 by 12 inches and the Trimco 1041 half-round push plate at 8 by 16 inches are push-side products only, not pull replacements.
12) Will a Cal-Royal PUL-175 night latch cylinder pull work in place of a Rockwood T110?
No. The Cal-Royal PUL-175 is a night latch cylinder pull in stainless steel with a 3-1/2 inch height - it mounts around a rim cylinder on an exit device door so the cylinder can be gripped and the door pulled. The Rockwood T110 is a general purpose tubular pull with 8 inch center-to-center and 3 inch projection, with no cylinder cutout. They are not interchangeable.
13) I want a long ladder-style pull rather than the 8 inch T110 - what should I look at?
The Rockwood T110 is an 8 inch center-to-center pull. For a longer grip, the Sure-Loc PL-1RD round long pull is single-sided and offered with concealed or thru-bolt mounting, the PL-1KN is the same long pull with a knurled grip and thru-bolt mounting, and the Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch contemporary single-side pull. The T110 itself can also be ordered with concealed mounting using the C suffix and mounting type number.
14) For a restroom door in a school or healthcare facility, is the T110 the right pull or is there a purpose-built option?
The Rockwood T110 is a commercial stainless steel tubular pull and is commonly used on institutional, educational, healthcare-adjacent and hospitality openings. If you want a pull designed specifically for restroom doors, the Trimco 1035 Ultimate Restroom Pull is a heavy duty restroom-specific pull. The T110 is also available with 2-1/2 inch barrier free clearance by using the BF prefix.
15) What finish does the Rockwood T110 come in, and will it match my other satin stainless hardware?
It's supplied in 630 satin stainless steel, the US32D equivalent. That's the standard satin stainless used on most commercial push plates, exit device trim and hinges, so it matches a typical 630 opening without a special order.
