1) What exactly does the Schlage ALX50 entrance/office function do when someone pushes the inside button?
Pressing the inside push button locks the outside lever. From there a key retracts the latch from outside, or turning the inside lever unlocks it and releases the button. The inside lever is always free, so anyone in the room can walk out without unlocking anything first.
