2) What does the Entrance/Office function on a Schlage L9050 actually do at the door?
Latchbolt pulls back from either lever normally. Key the outside, or flip the inside thumbturn, and the outside lever goes rigid. With it locked, only the outside key or the inside lever retracts the latch, so the inside lever is always free to get out. An auxiliary latch deadlocks the latchbolt once the door closes.
