Trimco 1150/1151 Door Pull, 1/2" Diameter Straight Grip, 6" and 8" CTC options

Projection is 4-1/8 inches, measured off the door face. That is a deep grip envelope for a 1/2 inch bar, so a gloved hand or a work glove clears the door face without knuckle contact. Confirm that projection against anything the door swings past, like an adjacent wall return or a second leaf in a pair.

It is rated heavy duty and built for commercial use, in stainless steel, bronze or brass rather than a hollow tube. The 1/2 inch bar is a slimmer grip than most commercial pulls, so if you want a fuller hand-fill on a high traffic entrance, the Ives 8103HD is a 1 inch round heavy duty straight pull and the Ives 8102HD is a 3/4 inch round heavy duty straight pull.

The Trimco 1150/1151 tops out at 8 inch center-to-center. For long-bar entry pulls, the Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch contemporary pull supplied single side, the Deltana SSPOBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back modern offset pull, and the Deltana SSPORBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back round offset pull. The two 24 inch parts come as back-to-back sets for a door pulled from both faces; the SSP1210 is single side only.

The Trimco 1150/1151 is a straight grip pull with a 1/2 inch diameter bar and a 4-1/8 inch projection, offered in 6 inch and 8 inch center-to-center. For the same straight-pull form in a heavier bar, the Ives 8102HD is a heavy duty straight door pull with a 3/4 inch round bar and 1-1/2 inch clearance, and the Ives 8103HD is a heavy duty straight pull with a 1 inch round bar and through bolt mounting. The ABH AB3300 is a straight flat end pull in 1.00 inch diameter. All four are straight grips; the difference is bar thickness and, on the Trimco, the deeper 4-1/8 inch projection.

The Trimco 1150/1151 is a straight grip pull, so an offset opening needs a different part. The Ives 8145EZHD is a 45 degree offset door pull with heavy duty mounting hardware and is ADA compliant. The Ives 8169 is a C style offset solid pull in 1 inch diameter with heavy duty mounting. On the ABH side, the AB3310 is an offset flat end pull in a commercial grade surface mount, and the AB3330 is an offset round end pull with custom length options. The Trimco 1150/1151 is ADA compliant as well, so the choice between them is grip geometry rather than accessibility.

Eleven finishes, and each one is available in both the 6 inch and 8 inch size: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 613E dark oxidized satin bronze, 622 matte black, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, 628 satin aluminum, 629 bright stainless steel, 630 satin stainless steel, and 710CU Steralloy Silver. Those are BHMA finish numbers, so 626 satin chrome and 630 satin stainless will match locksets and closers carrying the same code.

710CU is Trimco's Healthy Hardware Steralloy Silver, a copper-alloy finish offered on both the 6 inch and 8 inch pulls. It is the option to specify on touch surfaces in healthcare, senior living and food service where the facility wants an antimicrobial copper alloy on the grip rather than a standard plated finish.

The 1150/1151 is a straight grip, meaning the bar runs parallel to the door face with both posts the same length. Order it when the pull sits clear of anything else on the stile. An offset pull angles one leg so the grip clears trim, a rail or a lock, and if that is your condition the Ives 8145 45 degree offset or the Ives 8169 C style offset are the shapes to look at instead.

Substrate options are stainless steel, bronze and brass. That matters for exterior openings and for coastal or pool-deck exposure, where stainless holds up better than plated brass, and for restoration work where a solid bronze or brass body under a 613 oil rubbed bronze finish will age the way the existing hardware does.

They solve different jobs. The Deltana OHP620 is an off-set handle pull supplied as a back-to-back set, and it lists a door thickness range of 1-1/8 inch to 1-3/8 inch. The Trimco 1150/1151 is a straight grip rated heavy duty for commercial use in stainless steel, bronze or brass. If the door is thicker than 1-3/8 inch or the specification calls for a straight grip, the OHP620 is the wrong shape for the opening.

The Trimco 1150/1151 is supplied in fixed 6 inch and 8 inch center-to-center dimensions. For a non-standard length, the ABH AB3330 is an offset round end pull offered with custom length options. Note that the AB3330 is an offset grip rather than the straight grip form of the 1150/1151, so confirm the profile suits the opening before you order to a custom dimension.
