1) Will the Trine 002 electric strike work with the lockset I already have on the door?
The 002 accepts mortise or cylindrical locksets with a latch throw up to 5/8 inch, and that rating is based on a 1/8 inch door-to-jamb gap. It also carries a 2-7/8 inch auxiliary lever ramp, so it suits locksets with a deadlocking auxiliary lever, the plunger rides the ramp and stays depressed instead of dropping into the keeper pocket. Measure your gap first: run wider than 1/8 inch and the latch sits shallower in the keeper than the 5/8 inch figure assumes.
2) Can a Trine 002 strike go into a wood jamb, or is it metal frames only?
Both. The 002 is built for new or replacement installations in wood and metal jambs. Prep it needs: faceplate 7-15/16 by 1-7/16 inches, mortise backset 1-9/16 inches, and a cavity 1/2 inch deep by 9/16 inch wide by 1-1/2 inches high. Aluminum storefront jambs are a different animal and the 002 is not one of them.
