1) Can the WAC Parallax FM-73116 flush mount be installed on a wall as well as a ceiling?
Yes. The Parallax LED flush mount mounts on either a ceiling or a wall, so it can be run as an oversized sconce. Mounting is listed as Ceiling/Wall, any orientation, and the driver is concealed in the canopy so it goes up over a standard or pancake junction box. The backplate is 9 inches in diameter, which is what has to cover your box.
2) What voltage does the WAC Parallax FM-73116 run on, and will it work on 277V commercial circuits?
The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on 277V lighting circuits in commercial buildings. It is a hardwired fixture, 28W total.
3) Do I have to pick a color temperature when ordering the Parallax FM-73116, or can I change it on site?
Both, in effect. It ships factory pre-set to 3000K, and a Tri-CCT switch inside the canopy lets the installer toggle between 2700K warm, 3000K warm white and 3500K white during install. Order codes still carry a temperature suffix (FM-73116-27, -30, -35), so for a building where you want every fixture to match, specify the one you want and leave the switch alone.
4) What dimmer works with the WAC Parallax 15 inch LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two controls it is rated for, and dimming is smooth and continuous. A standard incandescent/magnetic low-voltage or 0-10V dimmer is not the right control for this fixture.
5) Can I use the Parallax FM-73116 in a covered porch or a bathroom over a shower?
It carries a Damp location rating and is IP44 rated, ETL and cETL listed, so it is good for covered exterior areas and for bathrooms. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or spray, and out of the shower enclosure itself.
6) Is the WAC Parallax FM-73116 Title 24 compliant for California projects?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California specifier needs for a hardwired residential luminaire. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not ADA compliant, so do not use it as a wall sconce in a corridor where ADA projection limits apply.
