1) Can the WAC Sirius PD-81118 pendant mount on an existing junction box, or does it need a special canopy box?
It mounts to a standard or pancake junction box at the ceiling. The 120V driver is built into the low-profile canopy, so there is no remote driver to find a home for. The canopy backplate is 9 inches across, so check that it covers whatever patch or box ring is already up there.
2) Will the WAC Sirius pendant work over a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It carries a damp location rating, ETL and cETL listed, with an IP44 rating. That makes it suitable for a covered porch, a breezeway, or over a tub or shower area where it sees humidity but no direct rain or spray. Do not use it in an exposed wet location.
3) What dimmer do I need for the Sirius LED pendant so it doesn't flicker?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types the integrated 120V driver is built for, and either gives smooth continuous dimming. A 0-10V or standard magnetic low voltage dimmer is the wrong match here.
4) Can I get the Sirius pendant on 277V for a commercial job?
The stock PD-81118 is 120V only. 277V and 240V versions, along with custom color temperatures, are handled as special order from WAC rather than as a shelf item. If the circuit in your building is 277V, specify that up front, because the driver is sealed into the canopy and cannot be swapped later.
5) Is the PD-81118 bright enough to be the only light over a dining table or island?
It puts out 2,493 lumens at 35W in a flood distribution, and the LEDs fire both up and down through silicone diffusers, so you get task light on the surface plus ceiling wash. Over a typical dining table or a single island it works as the primary fixture. Color is 3000K warm white.
6) What finishes does the 18 inch Sirius pendant come in?
Four: Aged Brass (PD-81118-AB), Brushed Aluminum (PD-81118-AL), Black (PD-81118-BK), and White (PD-81118-WT). All four are 3000K. The body is aluminum with a white silicone diffuser band, so the finish shows on the ring and canopy while the lit edges read white in every version, which keeps a mixed-finish job looking consistent when lit.
7) Do I have to order bulbs or a driver separately for the WAC Sirius pendant?
No. The light source is an integrated LED, included and not replaceable as a lamp, and the 120V driver is already inside the canopy. You supply the junction box and the wiring; everything else that makes it light is in the carton. Rated life is 50,000 hours.
