1) Does the WAC Stag WS-W29118 wall sconce need a separate driver or transformer?
No. The Stag sconce runs on 120V AC LED technology with the driver on board, so it wires straight to line voltage and fits on a pancake junction box. If you need 277V or 240V, those are special order. It's hardwired, not plug-in, and the LED is integrated at 16W, so there's no lamp to source.
2) Can the Stag LED sconce be used outdoors in the rain, or is it covered only?
Wet location rated and IP65, so it can go on an open exterior wall with direct rain exposure. It carries ETL and cETL listings and is approved for indoor use as well, so you can run the same fixture down an exterior facade and into a lobby or corridor.
3) Do I have to pick the right color temperature when I order the WAC Stag, or can I change it on site?
You can change it on site. There's a 3-CCT switch inside the canopy, reachable during installation, that toggles between 3000K warm white, 3500K white and 4000K cool white. The number in the part code is just the factory preset (WS-W29118-30 ships set at 3000K, -35 at 3500K, -40 at 4000K). For a property manager matching existing fixtures, that means one SKU covers all three temperatures.
4) Will the Stag sconce dim on my existing dimmers?
It dims smoothly on an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Standard magnetic low voltage or 0-10V controls are not the match here, so if a building is standardized on 0-10V you'd be swapping the control or choosing a different fixture.
5) Can the WAC Stag be mounted upside down for downlight instead of uplight?
Yes. It mounts vertically in either an up or a down configuration, so you can run a row of them all washing downward over a walkway, all upward on a facade, or pair them. Orientation is set at install, not at order time.
6) Is the WAC Stag ADA compliant for a corridor or egress path?
Yes, it's ADA compliant, and the 2.5 inch projection from the wall is what makes that work in a corridor or along an accessible route where protruding objects are limited.
7) What size is the backplate on the WAC Stag 2.5 inch sconce and will it cover a standard wall box?
The mounting backplate measures 4.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide, and the fixture body projects 2.5 inches from the wall. It's built to land on a pancake junction box. Check the box opening against 4.5 inches square before you rough in.
