Single Spot Light with Electronic Transformer. Engineered with an integral transformer and designed for mounting to walls or ceilings, low and line voltage Display Spot Lights deploy optimal accent lighting from surface mounted canopies that can be custom designed with any of WAC low voltage Track Heads.

1) Does the WAC ME-007 monopoint spot light need a separate low voltage transformer?
No separate transformer is needed. The ME-007 has a 120V electronic transformer built into the canopy, so it wires directly to a standard 120 VAC line voltage junction box and drives the 12V MR16 lamp itself. It is a hardwired fixture, not plug-in.
2) Is a lamp included with the 007 monopoint, and what bulb does it take?
Plan on buying the lamp. The 007 monopoint ships without a bulb and accepts one 12V MR16 with a GU5.3 bi-pin base, either LED or halogen, up to 50W maximum. The transformer has a 1 watt minimum load so low wattage LED MR16 lamps will light correctly.
3) Can I put the 007 monopoint on a dimmer?
Yes, on an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer or a TRIAC dimmer. With an electronic low voltage dimmer it runs smooth and continuous down to 10 percent. A standard incandescent dimmer that is not ELV or TRIAC rated is not the right control here.
4) Can I use the WAC 007 spot light in a covered outdoor entry or a bathroom?
Yes for covered exterior locations and damp interior spaces. The 007 is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations, so a covered porch, soffit or a bathroom is fine. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or spray.
5) Can this WAC monopoint be mounted on a wall, or is it ceiling only?
Either one. The 007 monopoint mounts to a wall or a ceiling and can be oriented any way you need, since the transformer is concealed inside the fixture canopy rather than hanging off it.
6) Does the WAC ME-007 meet California Title 24?
Yes. The 007 monopoint is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not an ADA compliant fixture, which matters if you are specifying it for a corridor wall where projection is restricted.
7) Can I change the beam spread on this spot light without swapping the whole fixture?
Yes. The 007 ships with a tempered clear glass lens, and special lenses such as spread lenses and UV filtering lenses can be ordered from WAC and dropped in place of the clear one. That is the usual way to soften a 35 degree beam for artwork or a display case, and the UV lens is what museum and retail buyers use over sensitive merchandise.
8) What is a monopoint like the 007, and when would I use it instead of a track head?
A monopoint is a single accent light on its own canopy that wires straight to a junction box, with the low voltage transformer built in. Use it when you need one or two points of accent light, over a painting or a display niche, and running a track for a single head makes no sense. If you need several aimable heads along a wall or you expect the display layout to move, a track system is the better call. The 007 canopy can be built with any WAC low voltage track head, so the aiming hardware is the same family.
9) Can I drop the WAC 007 monopoint down from a high ceiling?
Yes. The fixture is offered with 6, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 inch extensions, so you can bring the head down off a tall or sloped ceiling to get a workable aiming angle on the display below. The extension length is a separate thing to specify when ordering.
10) What finishes does the WAC 007 monopoint come in?
Three: Black (ME-007-BK), Brushed Nickel (ME-007-BN), and White (ME-007-WT). The housing is die cast aluminum in all three, so if you are standardizing across a gallery or retail buildout you can match the ceiling color and keep one part family.
