The WAC Lighting Endurance Signage Light features continuous beam adjustment from 60 degree flood to 15 degree spot, eliminating the process of choosing beam angles. 1) Does the WAC Endurance signage light need a separate LED driver or transformer?
No. The Endurance 30W double signage light is 120V direct wire using ACLED driverless technology, so it connects straight to line voltage with no remote driver or transformer. It is a hardwired fixture, not plug-in, so it needs a junction box and a 120 VAC, 50/60Hz feed.
2) How far off the sign face can this WAC signage light be mounted?
The kit ships with three field-interchangeable rods, 6 inch, 12 inch and 24 inch, which combine to extend the fixture up to 44 inches total from the canopy. WAC notes extension up to 48 inches from a sign or facade, and the included safety cable is recommended any time you go beyond 36 inches. Canopy and safety cable are both in the box.
3) Can I aim this light as a spot instead of a flood, or do I have to pick a beam angle when ordering?
You do not choose a beam angle at order time. The Endurance double signage light rotates for continuous beam adjustment from a 60 degree flood down to a 15 degree spot, indexed at 15, 25, 40 and 60 degrees. One SKU covers both the wide wash on a broad sign and the tight throw on a tall letter set, and the knuckle mount rotates 180 degrees for aiming.
4) Is this WAC signage light rated for an exposed exterior wall that gets hit by pressure washing?
Yes. The Endurance signage light is factory sealed water tight, IP66 rated against high-pressure water jets, and ETL and cETL wet location listed. The housing is die-cast aluminum with a clear glass diffuser, and it is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
5) What dimmer works with the WAC Endurance 30W signage light?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth continuous dimming; the fixture dims 100 percent down to 10 percent. TRIAC control is also listed as compatible. It will not dim properly on a 0-10V or DALI control, so spec the ELV or TRIAC wall control with the job.
6) Which color temperatures and finishes does the Endurance double signage light come in?
Two color temperatures, 3000K warm and 4000K neutral, each in four architectural finishes: Architectural Black, Architectural Bronze, Architectural Graphite and Architectural White. All eight combinations exist, for example WP-LED529-30-ABZ for 3000K bronze and WP-LED529-40-AWT for 4000K white. On a storefront sign, 3000K reads warmer against brick and wood, 4000K crisper against white or metal panel.
7) Does this WAC fixture qualify for Title 24 or Energy Star on a California job?
No. The Endurance 30W double signage light is not Title 24 compliant, not CEC listed and not Energy Star qualified. If your project requires a CEC-listed or Title 24 compliant luminaire, this is not the fixture to specify.
8) How much light does one 30W Endurance double signage fixture put out?
Delivered output is 2280 lumens at 30W, with a center beam candlepower of 4802 at the narrow setting. CRI is 85 per the feature data, with the collection rated up to 90. Rated life is 50,000 hours to 70 percent of initial output, and the LED light engine is replaceable.
9) Is the shroud on this signage light removable to cut glare for a neighbor?
The shroud is detachable on the Endurance double signage light. Leave it on to shield the source and keep spill off adjacent windows or a public right of way, or pull it off when you need maximum spread across a wide sign face.
