WAC Lighting WAC-PD-12006 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Chic PD-12006 pendant be mounted on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
Yes. The low-profile canopy on the 6 inch Chic LED pendant includes a hang straight swivel, so the pendant hangs plumb on a sloped ceiling without an extra adapter. It is a ceiling-mount, hardwired fixture.
2) How low can the Chic 6 inch LED pendant hang, and how high does it mount tight to the ceiling?
Overall hang range is 16.5 inches minimum up to 136 inches maximum. Out of the box you get 120 inches of wire plus three 12 inch downrods and one 6 inch downrod, which covers suspensions to 10 feet; reaching the full 136 inches means buying additional downrods separately.
3) Will this pendant work on 277V commercial power, or is it 120V only?
The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same fixture can go into a residential 120V circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch. The driver installs in the junction box rather than inside the pendant body.
4) What dimmer do I need for the WAC PD-12006 LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/magnetic low-voltage dimmer is the wrong control for this driver and can cause flicker or drop-out.
5) Can I hang this pendant over a covered porch or in a bathroom?
The Chic pendant is damp location rated with an IP44 rating, so a covered exterior area, a porch ceiling, or a bath outside the shower spray zone is within its rating. It is not rated for wet locations where it would see direct rain.
6) How much light does the 6 inch Chic pendant actually put out, and what color is it?
500 lumens from a 6.9W integrated LED at 3000K warm white, with a flood beam spread. That output suits accent and decorative rows, for example a run over an island or a bar, rather than serving as the only ambient source in a room. Custom CCT is available by special order.
7) Does the bulb in this pendant get replaced, and how long does the LED last?
There is no replaceable lamp. The light source is an integrated LED, one engine, included with the fixture, rated for an average 50,000 hours. For an MRO plan that means no relamping cycle; the fixture is the service item.
8) Does the WAC Chic PD-12006 meet California Title 24 for a residential job?
Yes. The Chic pendant is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian use. It is not Energy Star rated.
9) What size canopy will this pendant cover, and what are the fixture dimensions?
The backplate measures 4.75 inches diameter by 4.63 inches, which is what sits against the ceiling over the outlet box. The pendant itself is 6 inches in diameter and 7.88 inches high, with a smoke glass diffuser on an aluminum body.
10) Is this pendant ADA compliant for a corridor or public space?
No. The Chic LED pendant is not ADA compliant, which matters for protrusion limits in corridors and circulation paths. Over a counter, island, or table where it is outside the walking path it is not an issue.
