WAC Lighting PD-77506-27-AB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Cyllindra PD-775 pendant be wired on 277V commercial power, or is it 120V only?
The Cyllindra PD-775 uses a universal input driver rated 120V-240V-277V, concealed in the canopy, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial branch circuits. It is hardwired, not a plug-in portable, so a junction box and a canopy connection are required at the ceiling.
2) Will the Cyllindra LED pendant work with the dimmers I already have on the job?
Dimming is supported on 0-10V, ELV, and TRIAC controls, so a standard forward-phase TRIAC wall dimmer or an ELV low-voltage dimmer will drive it, and a 0-10V control system will too. No separate dimming driver has to be specified.
3) Is the WAC Cyllindra pendant approved for a covered patio or over a bathtub area?
The Cyllindra pendant is ETL and cETL Listed as suitable for damp locations, which covers covered porches, bathrooms, and similar sheltered spots. Damp is not wet, so it should not be used where it will take direct rain or hose spray.
4) Do I have to pick a color temperature when I order the Cyllindra pendant?
It depends on the configuration. The single-pendant 6 inch version is ordered in a fixed color temperature, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K. The multi-light canopy configurations ship with the selectable 4-CCT module instead, so the installer sets 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K at install or switches it later in the field.
5) How many pendants can I get on one canopy with the Cyllindra multi-light?
Cyllindra multi-light canopies run 3, 5, 9, 13, 14, 15, 21, 23, 25, and 41 lights, mounted on a linear, round, or square canopy. A single 6 inch pendant is also available for one-off drops or for spacing your own run over an island.
6) Can the Cyllindra pendant be hung on a sloped ceiling, and how is drop height set?
Yes, the canopy is sloped-ceiling compatible. Hanging height is set with a push-pin adjustment on the electrified cable, so the drop is trimmed at install without cutting or rewiring. The canopy lengths offered on the linear configurations include 21, 29, 37, 41.5, 41.88, and 54 inches.
7) What finishes does the WAC Cyllindra pendant come in for matching other fixtures in a space?
Two finishes: Aged Brass and Black Chrome. Both are offered across every configuration, from the single 6 inch pendant up to the 41-light canopy, so a lobby run and the islands in the units can be kept to one finish.
8) Is the Cyllindra pendant good enough color rendering for retail or hospitality display lighting?
The LED module is rated CRI 90 with a flood distribution, which is the range typically specified for retail merchandise, food service, and hospitality feature lighting where skin tones and finishes have to read correctly. Rated life is 50,000 hours.
9) When the LEDs eventually fail, does the whole Cyllindra pendant get replaced?
No. The Cyllindra uses a replaceable high-powered LED module rather than a sealed board, so the light source can be swapped rather than pulling and reinstalling the fixture. Lamps are included with the fixture, so nothing separate has to be ordered up front.
10) Does the Cyllindra LED pendant meet California Title 24 and is it Energy Star rated?
The Cyllindra pendant is CEC Title 24 compliant, which is what a California job needs for a hardwired residential luminaire. It is not Energy Star rated, so if a utility rebate program requires an Energy Star listing this fixture will not qualify.
11) Is the WAC Cyllindra pendant ADA compliant for a corridor or public space?
No. The Cyllindra is not ADA compliant, so it should not be used where a protruding-object limit applies, such as a corridor wall or a path of travel. As a ceiling-mounted pendant hung clear of circulation, over an island, table, or feature area, that restriction normally does not come into play.
12) What are the Cyllindra sphere sizes and what is the fixture made of?
Acrylic sphere diffusers come in 3.9 inch, 4.75 inch, and 5.9 inch, each split by a single metallic band, on an aluminum body. The acrylic is translucent, so the output is a diffuse glow rather than a tight downlight.
