1) Will the WAC JHT-826LED track head fit my existing J-type track?
Yes. The JHT-826LED is a J Track fixture, so it mounts to Juno-style (J) track systems. It runs on 120V line voltage track and steps the lamp down internally, so no separate low voltage transformer is needed at the track.
2) Do I need to buy a lamp separately for the JHT-826LED?
No, the lamp ships with the head. It's an MR16 LED on a GY5.3 bipin base, one per fixture, 8W drawing out 450 lumens at 3000K with a CRI of 90.
3) What kind of dimmer works with this WAC low voltage track head?
It dims on an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer. A standard incandescent/forward-phase wall dimmer is not the right control here, so spec an ELV-rated dimmer on the circuit or the head may flicker or refuse to dim.
4) Can I use the JHT-826LED in a bathroom, covered porch, or kitchen over a sink?
Dry locations only, indoor. The JHT-826LED is rated for dry use, so keep it out of showers, above tubs, covered exteriors, and any spot that sees steam or splash. For those areas you need a damp or wet rated head.
5) Does this WAC track head meet California Title 24 for a residential or commercial lighting job?
Yes. The HT-826 head is Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a California inspector looks for on the appliance side. It is also UL and cUL listed for US and Canadian work. It does not carry Energy Star.
6) How much room does the JHT-826LED need below the track?
Figure 5.5 inches of height at full extension, with a 2.5 inch diameter head, 4.5 inches wide and 3 inches long overall. On low ceilings or tight soffits that 5.5 inch drop is the number that decides whether the head clears.
