Modern Forms FR-W1819-52L-BZ/DW – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Mykonos 52 inch fan be installed on a covered patio?
Yes. The Mykonos carries a Wet location rating, so it can go on covered patios and porches as well as indoors, and it holds UL, cUL, CSA, ETL and cETL listings for that use.
2) Will the Mykonos ceiling fan mount on a sloped ceiling?
Out of the box the Mykonos handles slopes up to 30 degrees. For a steeper ceiling between 32 and 45 degrees you need the XF-SCK slope ceiling kit, ordered separately. The fan ships with a 4.5 inch downrod, so on a high or sloped ceiling plan on a longer rod if you want the blades lower.
3) What color temperature and finish combinations does the Mykonos FR-W1819 come in?
Three finishes, each in three LED color temperatures: Matte Black, Bronze Dark Walnut, and Oil Rubbed Bronze Barn Wood, in 2700K, 3000K or 3500K. Color temperature is fixed at the factory, not tunable, so specify it on the order. For a warm residential look most buyers take 2700K; 3000K or 3500K reads cooler and matches commercial lobby and corridor lighting.
4) Does the Mykonos fan need a separate remote or wall control to operate?
A Bluetooth remote with a wall cradle (F-RCBT-WT) is in the box, so nothing else is required to run it. If you want a hardwired wall station instead of a cradle, the F-WCBT-WT is sold separately. The free Modern Forms app also controls the fan and works with Google Assistant, Alexa, SmartThings, Control4 and Josh AI.
5) Is a 52 inch Mykonos fan enough airflow for a large great room?
It moves up to 6001 CFM across a 52 inch blade span with three 21 inch ABS blades at a 13 degree pitch, which covers a typical great room or large patio. Six speeds and a reversible DC motor let you drop it to a low winter downdraft reversal in cooler months.
6) Can the LED in the Mykonos ceiling fan be replaced, or is the whole fan scrap when it fails?
The light is a replaceable LED module rather than a sealed assembly or a screw-in lamp, rated at 50,000 average hours. For a property manager that means a module swap at end of life instead of pulling the fan down.
7) Does the Mykonos fan qualify as Energy Star for a rebate or green spec?
Yes, the Mykonos is Energy Star qualified, which is what most utility rebate programs and sustainable-spec packages ask for on ceiling fans. The DC motor is what gets it there.
8) Is the Mykonos ceiling fan ADA compliant?
No. The Mykonos is not ADA compliant, so for an institutional project with ADA-governed protrusion or reach requirements in the affected space, it will not satisfy that line of the spec.
9) Is 1100 lumens enough light to use this fan as the only fixture in a room?
1100 lumens at 90 CRI with a flood beam spread works as general ambient light over a seating area or a patio, but it is not a substitute for a full lighting layout in a kitchen or work space. The 90 CRI is high enough that finishes and skin tones read accurately, which is why it suits living and hospitality spaces.
10) Where can I get the wiring and mounting instructions for the FR-W1819 before I schedule the install?
Modern Forms publishes an installation guide for the Mykonos covering the canopy mounting, downrod assembly and wiring; it is posted on the product record as a PDF. Worth reading before the trip if you are deciding between the included 4.5 inch downrod and a longer one.
