Modern Forms FR-W2204-58-BN/EB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Torque ceiling fan be installed on a covered patio or porch?
Yes. The Torque smart ceiling fan carries a Wet location rating, so it can go outdoors under a covered patio, porch, or breezeway as well as indoors. Wet location is the broadest of the fan location ratings, which means it is also fine in a pool house, screened lanai, or a bathroom where a damp-rated fan would be the minimum.
2) Does the Torque fan need a wall control, or is a remote included?
A Bluetooth handheld remote is in the box and controls light, speed, and direction. No wall control is included, so if a unit or guest room needs a fixed switch at the door, budget for that separately. The fan also pairs to the Modern Forms app over Wi-Fi for scheduling and smart home integration.
3) What voltage and circuit does the Modern Forms Torque fan run on?
It runs on standard 120V line voltage, so it lands on an ordinary residential or light commercial branch circuit with a fan-rated outlet box. The DC motor draws less than a comparable AC fan motor, which is part of why it carries an Energy Star rating.
4) Which Torque finish should I spec to match mixed metal fixtures?
Five combinations are available across both the 58 and 70 inch models: Brushed Nickel Ebony, Matte Black, Matte Black Distressed Koa, Soft Brass Matte Black, and Soft Brass Matte White. Soft Brass Matte Black and Soft Brass Matte White are the two-tone options for mixed metal schemes; Matte Black Distressed Koa gives a wood-look blade against a black housing.
5) Where can I get the mounting and wiring details before the electrician shows up?
Modern Forms publishes both an installation guide and a specification sheet for the Torque, and both are available with the product documentation. Those cover the mounting canopy and wiring sequence; plan on a fan-rated box and a 120V supply at the location.
