Maximum Security Two-Point Locking System for Wood Door Pairs

The Adams Rite MS1837 Series Two-Point Deadlock provides maximum security for wood door pairs through simultaneous dual-point locking with a single key turn. This Grade 1 commercial deadlock features a case measuring 1" x 6" x 2-3/16" with 1-1/2" backset and accepts standard 1" length mortise cylinders. The system eliminates the need for inconvenient flush bolts by dropping a stainless steel hexagonal bolt into the threshold while pivoting the massive MS bolt into the opposite door leaf.

Installation & Operation

  1. Review manufacturer specifications and verify door preparation requirements including door thickness, stile width, and proper door pair alignment for dual-point operation.
  2. Use manufacturer-provided templates to mark mounting hole locations accurately on both door leaves and threshold area.
  3. Prepare doors and threshold by drilling required holes and routing as specified in manufacturer instructions for case, bolt strikes, and threshold bolt.
  4. Install the deadlock case in the active door leaf and secure with provided mounting screws per manufacturer torque specifications.
  5. Install the 4001-011 Strike Plate with dust box for the MS bolt and prepare threshold bolt strike (1/2" diameter hole in metal threshold or 4005 Strike for wood threshold).
  6. Test dual-point operation with 360° key turn to verify proper bolt projection into opposite door and threshold drop, ensuring smooth operation and positive locking. Refer to manufacturer documentation for complete installation details and troubleshooting.
