2) Which HES strike models are these faceplates compatible with?
These faceplates are specifically designed for HES 8000 and 8300 series electric strikes. Check your strike model number to ensure proper faceplate compatibility.
3) What finishes are available for HES faceplates?
HES faceplates typically come in satin stainless steel, dark bronze, and other architectural finishes. Select the finish that matches your door hardware and project requirements.
4) How do I determine the correct faceplate size?
Measure your door frame opening and check the HES installation template. The faceplate must cover the rough opening while providing proper clearance for the strike mechanism.
5) Can these faceplates be used on both wood and metal frames?
Yes, HES faceplates work with wood and metal door frames. Use appropriate fasteners for your frame material and ensure proper backing support.
6) What tools are needed to install HES faceplates?
You'll need a drill, appropriate drill bits, screwdriver, level, and measuring tape. Use the manufacturer's template for accurate hole placement.
7) Do HES faceplates come with mounting hardware?
Most HES faceplates include standard mounting screws. You may need different fasteners depending on your frame material and installation requirements.
8) How do I maintain HES faceplates?
Clean faceplates with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish. Check mounting screws periodically for tightness.
9) Are there different faceplate styles for the 8000 and 8300 series?
Yes, faceplate configurations vary between models. Some are flat mount while others are angled. Verify the correct style for your specific strike model.
10) Can faceplates be field modified if needed?
Minor modifications may be possible but can affect performance and void warranties. It's better to select the correct faceplate model for your application.
11) What's the difference between standard and low profile faceplates?
Low profile faceplates extend less from the frame surface. Choose based on your door clearance requirements and aesthetic preferences.
